Service Description

Four-Week Introduction to Painting and Drawing This relaxed four-week course is designed for absolute beginners who would like to explore the basics of drawing and painting in a friendly, supportive setting. Each week introduces a different medium, giving learners the chance to try simple techniques, build confidence, and discover which materials they enjoy using. Week 1: Pencil Sketching An introduction to basic drawing materials and techniques. Learners will explore line, shape, tone, shading, proportion, and observation through simple sketching exercises. Week 2: Watercolour A gentle introduction to watercolour painting, including washes, colour mixing, layering, wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques. Learners will create a simple watercolour study. Week 3: Acrylic Painting An introduction to acrylic paints and how they behave. Learners will explore brushwork, blending, colour mixing, layering, and creating texture while producing a small acrylic painting. Week 4: Oils A beginner-friendly introduction to oil painting, including basic materials, safe handling, blending, colour mixing, and simple painting techniques. Learners will create a small oil study and reflect on the different media explored during the course. By the end of the course, learners will have tried four different approaches to drawing and painting, gained confidence with basic materials, and created a small collection of introductory studies.
