Milner's Tower is a much loved icon. It is one of the two 'Follies' which make me feel 'home' when I approach them.
The magnificent Bradda Head, which looks over Port Erin, hosts the tower, which was build in 1871 in remembrance of local philanthropist William Milner.
This stunning view appears more and more in my artwork as I love to create it.
I have found that people like to gift my art to those with connections to the Isle of Man, who now live elsewhere.
As each piece is created entirely by hand, they are all different. The image shown is of a 15cm square simple silhouette of Milner's Tower on Bradda Head. Hand cut from two pieces of glass (one coloured and one clear) I then add glass powders before firing to approximately 775 C.
The kiln takes around 15 hours from the start to my being able to open it.
The stand allows the glass to be displayed on a flat surface.
